Looking into LED replacement bulbs. Anyone done it on the 16 Camaro? Is it a pain in the balls? Does it require a fascia removal?

Does it require a fascia removal?

You’re thinking of Audi, unless GM and VAG have are designing headlights together.

We’ve had some cadillacs that had to and I believe an Equinox may have required it too. I think. I don’t know. It’s been a while. But I know we have had some GM stuff that required it.

Unless they changed it with the redesign, there should be a big cap you just take off to get to the bulb. Have you looked in behind the light to see if it has one?

It does, but there are serious clearance issues in there. The manual says to replace the headlight bulbs to take it to the dealer. Also, you can only DIY the passenger side front turn signal. Not the driver.

That sucks! I tried searching for some videos earlier but didn’t come across anything. Probably because it is still new and most haven’t needed to change bulbs. It seems everything these days is getting to the point where you have to take the whole front end off just to change bulbs. It’s ridiculous.

It’s insane. Thankfully, my dad knows how to do it pretty easily (he builds and configures police cars so it’s a regular thing for him). But now I want to replace the reverse lights with LED’s and there is a lot of issues with it with folks online. Have to look into it.

That’s good. Hopefully he can get it sorted without much fuss. What are the issues with the reverse LED’s? I have them in mine but because BMW is, well, BMW, they still hyperflash on startup even though they aren’t supposed to. Same for my halos and fender markers.

The ones I am looking at have a setup that’s supposed to eliminate hyperflash. I hope that’s the case. It’s a lot of money for them! My dad uses VLED’s usually and theirs seem OK but for some reason, they don’t list the Camaro as compatible with their lights. They worked with my Cruze so I am unsure what the issue is.

Yeah mine were supposed to be the same. My halos are from PMLIT and they will still flash if I have the auto on switch turned off. It’s a known thing with German cars though so it doesn’t surprise me. Hopefully yours will work fine.
